The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 102 calls for service in the past 24 hours. Nine people were arrested.
Police Execute Drug Warrant CK15013700
Last night, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence, with the assistance of the Critical Incident Response Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant on Merritt Avenue in Chatham.
Five people were located inside the residence. A small amount of methamphetamine was seized along with other drug paraphernalia.
A 46-year-old Chatham man was charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking. He was released pending a future court date of June 4, 2015.
A 35-year-old Chatham man was charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. He was released pending a future court date of June 4, 2015.
A 24-year-old Chatham woman was charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking. She was released pending a future court date of June 4, 2015.
An 18-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking and two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
A 17-year-old Chatham girl was charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking. She was released pending a future court date of June 8, 2015.
Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK15013665
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for breaching his release conditions.
On March 25, 2015 the man was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was to notify police of any change in his address, employment or occupation.
Yesterday afternoon, an officer located the man at a residence in Wallaceburg. Through investigation, the officer learned that he was no longer living at the address provided in Sarnia.
The 26-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Theft of Trailers CK15013671
The Chatham-Kent police are looking for information regarding a theft in Orford Township.
Sometime within the past couple months, unknown suspect(s) stole three (3) farm trailers from a residence on Braemore Line. Total value of the theft has been estimated at $28,000.
