The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 109 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested.
Man Charged with Impaired Driving CK15006776
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for impaired driving early this morning in Chatham.
Shortly after 3:00 a.m. an officer on general patrol observed a vehicle travelling on Grand Avenue West near Keil Drive. The officer initiated a traffic stop and through investigation believed the man was driving his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The man was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
The 32-year-old Maidstone man has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He will be released when sober with conditions pending a future court date of March 25, 2015.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK15006697
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant.
On January 16, 2015 the man was charged with taking a motor vehicle without consent. He was released with conditions pending a future court date.
On February 13, 2015, the man failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Yesterday afternoon, the 19-year-old Chatham man turned himself in to police headquarters. He was taken into custody and transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.
Motor Vehicle Collisions in the Dresden Area
CK15006668 – Shortly after 8:00 a.m. yesterday morning, emergency crews responded to a two vehicle collision on Kent Bridge Road near Base Line. Total damage was estimated at $13,000. A 19-year-old Dresden woman was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention. She was charged with making a turn not in safety.
CK15006672 – Just before 9:30 a.m. yesterday morning, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Base Line near Dawn Mills Road. Total damage was estimated at $900. The 89-year-old Sarnia man was charged with disobeying a stop sign.
Motor Vehicle Collision in Wabash CK15006734
Around 7:00 p.m. last night, police responded to a three vehicle collision on Base Line near Flat Rock Road. No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $11,000. A 24-year-old Camden Township man was charged with passing a vehicle when the roadway was not clear.
Mischief in Chatham CK15006680
The Chatham-Kent police are looking for information regarding an attempt break and enter.
Sometime between March 10, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. and March 11, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. unknown suspect(s) damaged the rear door of a residence on Sunnyside Avenue. Damage to the door frame was estimated at $50.
