The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 106 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Twelve people were arrested.
Police Execute Drug Warrants CK15001924 / CK15001925
Last night, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section and Critical Incident Response Team executed two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrants in Chatham.
Officers searched a residence on Adelaide Street and Pine Street. In total, officers seized approximately $1150 worth of cocaine and $150 worth of methamphetamine.
A 31-year-old Chatham man and 35-year-old Chatham woman were both charged with two counts of drug possession. They were released with conditions pending a future court date of February 12, 2015.
Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrants CK15001958
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman wanted on outstanding warrants.
On June 19, 2014, the woman was observed driving a stolen car on Baldoon Road near Parry Drive in Chatham. The woman was charged with being in possession of stolen property under $5000. She was released with conditions pending a future court date.
The woman has since failed to attend court on two separate occasions.
Early this morning, around 1:30 a.m. police responded to a disturbance on Grand Avenue East in Chatham. Officers located the woman and she was taken into custody. The 28-year-old woman of no fixed address has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police Charge Pair with Failing to Comply CK15001899 / CK15001895
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a female youth and adult man for breaching their release conditions.
On October 30, 2014, the youth was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that she was not to associate or communicate with a specific Chatham man.
Yesterday morning, around 10:00 a.m. officers attended a residence on the north side of Chatham and found the pair together.
The 17-year-old Chatham youth was taken into custody and charged with failing to comply. She was transported to the courthouse pending a bail hearing.
At the same time, officers arrested the 19-year-old man of no fixed address. He was charged with three counts of failing to comply and one count of breach of probation. He was also transported to the courthouse pending a bail hearing.
Motor Vehicle Collision CK15001930
Yesterday, around 5:30 p.m. police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Kent Bridge Road near Wildwood Line in Harwich Township.
A 27-year-old Morpeth man lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and struck a hydro pole. Luckily, he was not injured. Total damages were estimated at $6000.
The man was charged with careless driving.
