The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 90 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested.
Update: Home Invasion in Chatham-Kent CK15003106
The Chatham-Kent police continue to investigate a home invasion that occurred early Tuesday morning.
On February 3, 2015, shortly after midnight, five suspects armed with guns forced their way into a residence north of Chatham. The intruders assaulted the male homeowner and left with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry. The homeowner was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention and released.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen a vehicle with a group of males in it around the city of Chatham between 10:00 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. to please call 519-352-1234. Anonymous callers may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.
Police Execute Search Warrant CK15003211
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a search warrant yesterday.
In March 2012, the man was released with conditions not to possess any firearms or ammunition. In July 2012, the man was issued a Prohibition Order stating that he was not to possess firearms or ammunition for life.
Over the last month, police received information that the man was in possession of firearms. As a result, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section and Critical Incident Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence on the south side of Chatham.
Officers located and seized three pellet guns, which as per the Criminal Code of Canada are defined as firearms. Shotgun shells were also found and seized. The 42-year-old Chatham man has been charged with four counts of being in possession of a firearm or ammunition and four counts of failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK15003234
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant.
On September 23, 2014, the man was arrested and charged with uttering threats. He was released with conditions pending a future court date. On January 13, 2015, the man failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Yesterday afternoon, the 25-year-old Chatham man turned himself in to police headquarters. He was arrested on the outstanding warrant and released pending a future court date of February 24, 2015.
Motor Vehicle Collision CK15003242
Shortly after 4:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Richmond Street near Keil Drive in Chatham. No one was seriously injured. Total damage was estimated at $3500.
A 42-year-old Chatham woman was charged with careless driving.

Just before 4:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Queen Street between Highland Drive and Cecile Avenue in Chatham. No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $6000.
An 18-year-old Muirkirk woman was charged with careless driving.
