The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 122 calls for service in the last 24 Hours. 8 people were arrested.

Female charged with Theft – CK15012339

The Chatham-Kent Police arrested a women following a shoplifting complaint in Chatham.

At approximately 12:20p.m. Police attended Wal-Mart in Chatham with regards to a theft. Police attended and spoke with loss prevention employee who had the female in custody. The female concealed various items with a total value of $188.63, and left the store making no attempt to purchase the items.

The female was released by way of an Appearance Notice with a future court date.

Break and Enter in Chatham – CK15012418

The Chatham-Kent Police are looking for information regarding a break and enter in Chatham.

Sometime between 1:30p.m. and 8:30p.m. an unknown suspect entered a residence on Park Avenue West in Chatham. Approximately $6000.00 of electronics were taken from the residence.

Break and Enter in Chatham – CK15012421

The Chatham-Kent Police are looking for information regarding a break and enter in Chatham.

Sometime between 4:00p.m. and 7:30p.m. an unknown suspect entered a residence on Romney Road in Chatham, and removed a Wii Console and a Samsung 10 cell phone.

Charges laid in Neighbor Dispute –

The Chatham-Kent Police have charged 3 Chatham males with assault, and weapons related offences.

At approximately 9:05p.m. Police responded to an ongoing neighbor dispute outside of Chatham. The ongoing dispute regarding access to ATV trails turned violent resulting in multiple charges.

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Police responded to 6 minor motor vehicle collisions. As a result of these incidents 4 drivers were charged with Highway Traffic Act Offences..

With the warm weather arriving motorists are reminded to be vigilant when operating a motor vehicle.

Dry brush fires

Police responded to 3 reports of fires involving dry brush.

Citizens are reminded when burning brush to keep control of the fire, and remain in the immediate vicinity.
