Daily News Release – Sunday, April 19, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 120 calls for service in the past 24 hours. Six people were arrested.

Female Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

On the November 10, 2014 a 39 year old female was given a one year probation order as a result of criminal charges. On March 25, 2015 a warrant was issued for the female as she was in breach of her probation conditions. On April 18, 2015 at approximately 10pm the female was located by an officer on patrol in the City of Chatham. She was arrested for two counts of Breach of Probation and taken into custody. She was later released with a future court date.

Break and Enter Investigation

Sometime overnight on April 18, 2015 an unknown suspect(s) entered a shed on Lawrence Line, Orford Township. A power washer and an air compressor were stolen. Break and Enter Investigation

Sometime overnight on April 18, 2015 an unknown suspect(s) entered a shed on Pollard Line, Orford Township. A red 2001 Suzuki King Quad was stolen. Break and Enter Investigation

Sometime over the past week an unknown suspect(s) entered a shed on Erie Shore Drive. A 2013 John Deere X300 riding lawn mower and boat trailer were stolen. Dangerous Drive

On April 18, 2015 at approximately 2:40pm an officer on general patrol observed a suspicious vehicle on New Scotland Line in Shrewsbury. Police initiated a traffic stop and the driver accelerated away. The vehicle continued for approximately 2kms at a high rate of speed, ignoring traffic signs and disregard for public safety . The driver lost control of the motor vehicle and became stuck in a side yard. Police arrested a 25 year old male driver. The male was charged with Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle, Flight from Police, Driving while Under Suspension and Plates Unauthorized. There were no injuries as a result of the incident. The male was released from custody with a future court date.
