Man Charged with Assault CK15012234
The Chatham-Kent Police has arrested a man following a domestic disturbance in Wallaceburg.
The man and his common-law partner were arguing. The incident escalated into a physical altercation as the man began assaulting her.
Officers attended the residence and the man was taken into custody. The 50-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with one count of assault, one count of assault with a weapon and Weapons Dangerous. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Break and Enter in Chatham CK15012223
The Chatham-Kent police are looking for information regarding a break and enter.
Sometime between May 1st, and May 2nd unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked tool shed on St. Clair Street in Chatham. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a Chain Saw and copper wiring. Total value of the theft was estimated at $200.

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere
Last night, officers conducted RIDE spot checks in Chatham, Wallaceburg and Blenheim.
A total of 177 motorists were stopped. No infractions were found.
Traffic Enforcement
Yesterday afternoon, members of the Traffic Unit conducted speed enforcement on Charing Cross Rd.
A total of 23 motorists were stopped and charged with speeding, seat belt violations and smoking with young adult in the vehicle.
