The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 110 calls for service in the last 24 hours. 10 people were arrested.

Man Charged with Impaired Driving CK15007761

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for impaired driving early this morning in Chatham.

Shortly after 3:00 a.m. an officer on general patrol observed a vehicle travelling on Park Avenue East. The officer initiated a traffic stop and through investigation believed the man was driving his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The man was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

The 39-year-old Chatham man has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He will be released when sober with conditions pending a future court date.

Break and Enter in Chatham CK15007725

Sometime over night, unknown suspect(s) entered a residence on Sandy Street. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a variety of electronics and several purses.

Break and Enter in Chatham CK15007725

Sometime between March 16th and March 17th, unknown suspect(s) entered a shed on Grand Ave East. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a variety of gardening tools and a lawn mower.

Intoxicated in a Public Place

In the last 24 hours 5 people have been arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. All parties were located in public intoxicated and unable to care for themselves. All parties were transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters for their own safety. They were charged with intoxicated in a public place and released when they were sober.

Ride Program CK15007732

Overnight, the Chatham-Kent Police Service conducted a ride program in Chatham with a total of 50 vehicles checked with no road side test and one provincial offence notice written.
