Man Charged with Assault with a Weapon CK15000875
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a disturbance in Wallaceburg.
On Saturday, January 10, 2015 around 11:30 p.m. two men known to each other became involved in an altercation at the Canadian Belgium Dutch Club on Dufferin Avenue. A Sombra man assaulted a Wallaceburg man by breaking a beer bottle over his head. The 19-year-old victim attended Sydenham District Hospital for medical attention.
Last night, the 22-year-old Sombra man was taken into custody. He was charged with assault with a weapon and released pending a future court date of February 3, 2015.
Man Charged with Theft CK15000905
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a shoplifting complaint in Chatham yesterday.
Around 3:00 p.m. police responded to Walmart on St. Clair Street in regards to a theft. A man was observed stealing approximately $75 worth of electronics.
Allen Fleury, 39 years, of Chatham Street North in Blenheim was taken into custody. He was charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He was released pending a future court date of February 3, 2015.
Man Charged with Breaching his Release Condition CK15000892
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for failing to comply with his Probation Order.
On June 30, 2014 the man entered into a Probation Order with a condition not to attend within 100 metres of an Orchard Heights residence in Chatham.
Yesterday morning, the man attended the residence on Orchard Heights and when asked to leave he threatened the female homeowner.
Officers located the man a short time later on Riverview Drive. The 29-year-old Chatham man has been charged with failing to comply and uttering threats. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place CK15000947
Shortly after 2:00 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol observed an intoxicated man on Lacroix Street in Chatham. The man was unable to care for himself and taken into custody for his own safety.
The 23-year-old Raleigh Township man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He was released to a family member.
