The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 78 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested.

Man Charged with Assault with a Weapon CK15011505

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a neighbour dispute.

On April 24, 2015 at approximately 10:30 p.m. police responded to a disturbance in Chatham. While outside arguing, the man struck his neighbour with a tree branch. The victim did not require medical attention. The man fled the area prior to police arrival.

Yesterday morning, police located the man and he was charged with assault with a weapon. The 33-year-old Chatham man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Woman Charged with Assault CK15011704

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman following a disturbance in Chatham.

On April 21, 2015 the woman began arguing with another woman known to her. The incident escalated into a physical altercation. The victim reported the incident yesterday.

Last night, the 60-year-old Chatham woman was taken into custody and charged with assault. She was released pending a future court date of May 12, 2015.

Man Charged with Breaching his Release Conditions CK15011643

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for failing to comply with his release conditions.

In November 2014, the man was released from custody with several conditions. Two of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with a specific Dresden woman or attend within 50 metres of her residence. The man is also currently bound by a Probation Order not to attend the specific Dresden residence.

Yesterday morning, officers attended the address and located the man. The 49-year-old Dresden man has been charged with breach of probation and two counts of failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Youth Fails to Comply with Curfew CK15011608

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a youth for failing to comply with his curfew.

In February 2015, the youth was released from custody with several conditions. One of his conditions was to obey a daily curfew of 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. On April 25, 2015 around 10:00 p.m. police received information that the youth had failed to return home.

Yesterday morning, police located the youth and he was taken into custody. The 12-year-old Chatham youth has been charged with failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Uniforms Unite to Save Lives

The Chatham-Kent Police, Fire, EMS, OPP as well as the residents of Chatham-Kent are being called to action this month. The call is in support of ‘Uniforms Unite to Save Lives’ — a month-long blood donor campaign that promotes the need for blood. Roll up your sleeves and help us save lives.

Today, there will be a blood donor clinic at the Dresden Arena from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

New donors and walk-ins welcome. United We Stand…and Give !!
