The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 64 calls for service in the past 24 hours. No one was arrested.

Man Charged with Driving While Under Suspension CK15011007

Early this morning, around 4:30 a.m. an officer on general patrol observed a man driving a car unusually slow on James Street in Wallaceburg.

The officer initiated a traffic stop as he believed the driver may be impaired.

Through investigation, the officer determined that the man was not impaired however he was suspended from driving.

The 54-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with three counts of driving while under suspension. His girlfriend’s car was impounded for seven days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program.

Man Charged with Driving with No Licence CK15010952

Yesterday morning, just before 11:00 a.m. an officer on general patrol observed a man driving a van on Main Street in Ridgetown.

A traffic stop was initiated and the officer learned that the man did not have a licence.

The 37-year-old Highgate man was charged with driving with no licence.

Break and Enter in Chatham CK15010943

The Chatham-Kent police are looking for information regarding a break and enter.

Sometime between April 18, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. and April 19, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. unknown suspect(s) forced their way into a residence on Adelaide Street South. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole jewelry. Damage to the residence was estimated at $250.

Break and Enter in Chatham CK15010961

The Chatham-Kent police are requesting the public’s assistance regarding a break and enter.

Sometime April 19, 2015 between midnight and 7:30 a.m. unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked residence on Collegiate Drive and stole two wallets and a Canon Powershot black camera valued at $300.
