Daily News Release – Friday, March 20, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 103 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Nine people were arrested, two of which were held for a bail hearing.

Mischief Under $5000 and Over 80mgs

On the 19th of March, 2015 Chatham-Kent Police attended 361 Talbot St. E., Blenheim, regarding a mischief complaint. Upon arrival officers learned that someone had shot paint balls at the complainant’s security camera.

Police located two suspects a short time later. A 36 year old Blenheim man was charged with mischief under $5000 and a 26 year old Blenheim woman was charged with mischief under $5000 and operating a motor vehicle with over 80mgs of alcohol in her blood. Both were released with a future court date.

Domestic

On the 19th of March, 2015 the Chatham-Kent Police attended an address on Patteson Ave, Chatham, in response to a domestic dispute. Officers learned that an ex-boyfriend attended the address to retrieve property. When he was refused entry, he forced the door open causing minor damage, and the suspect left prior to Police arrival. Police located the male a short time later and arrested him for break and enter with intent. The 47 year old Chatham man is currently being held in custody, pending a bail hearing.

Intoxicated male

On the 20th of March, 2015 Chatham-Kent Police attended an address on Reaume Avenue in Wallaceburg regarding a family dispute. Upon arrival officers located a male party, outside of the apartment building, who had a strong odour of alcohol on his breath, was showing obvious signs of intoxication and was in no condition to care for himself. The 28 year old Wallaceburg resident was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and held until sober.

Theft from Vehicles

On the 19th of March, 2015 Chatham-Kent Police responded to a restaurant in Chatham regarding thefts from two vehicles. Both vehicles had their windows smashed, purses and bags containing personal property were removed from the vehicles. This occurred between the hours of 5 pm and 10 pm.
