The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 116 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Twelve people were arrested, one of which was held for Bail Court.
Break & Enter Investigation – CK15008952
During the early morning hours of April 2nd, 2015 Police responded to a residential Break & Enter on Talbot Trail, Raleigh Township. Investigation revealed the location was a construction site and approximately $20,000 worth of tools and equipment was removed. Anyone with information is asked to contact Cst. Arrest made in Fraud Investigation – CK15008777
On April 2nd, 2015 Officers concluded an investigation in which forged prescriptions were being submitted at both The Shoppers Drug Mart & IDA Pharmacies in Blenheim. As a result, a 48 year old Blenheim man was arrested and charged for Making & Uttering a Forged Document. He was released with a future court date.
Arrest made in relation to several Outstanding Warrants – CK15009017
During the late afternoon on April 2nd, 2015 an Officer on general patrol observed a 58 year old Chatham male in the area of Richmond Street, Chatham. The Officer recognized the male as a person with several outstanding property related warrants. As a result, the male was arrested and held for a Bail Hearing.
Immigration Warrant Executed – CK15009010
On the 2nd of April, 2015 a 28 year old Chatham male attended Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for an unrelated matter. During subsequent investigation it was learned the male was wanted on a Canada-Wide Immigration Warrant. The male was subsequently arrested and transported to a neighboring Institution in relation to the charge.
Male arrested for Care & Control / Over 80 – CK15009040
Shortly after 8:00pm on the 2nd of April, 2015 while investigating a disturbance on King Street East, Chatham, Officers overheard what they believed to be a collision. Upon quickly attending to the area, a 55 year old Chatham male was located behind the wheel of his pick-up truck in his driveway. As a result of investigation, it was suspected that the male was impaired by alcohol. He was immediately arrested for Impaired Care & Control of a Motor Vehicle, and subsequently transported to Headquarters where he provided suitable samples of his breath which indicated he had more than two times the legal limit of alcohol in his system. The male was lodged in cells and later released with a future court date.
Male arrested for Domestic Assault – CK15008993
On the 2nd of April, 2015 Police investigated a Domestic Assault allegation which had occurred in Chatham. Subsequent to Police investigation a 27 year old Chatham male was arrested for Domestic related Assault and released with a future court date.
Public reminded to use caution with Banking Information
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind citizens to use caution when providing banking and/or personal information over the phone. There has been an increase in telephone inquiries requesting individuals provide personal information related to fraudulent financial applications. Citizens are encouraged to contact Police should they received any suspicious phone calls requesting personal and/or financial information.

Police are continuing with a Break & Enter Investigation which occurred on the 29th of March, 2015 at Value Village, Chatham. Anyone with information is asked to contact Cst.
