The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 106 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested.

Yesterday afternoon, police responded to Thamesville Area Central School in regards to a suspicious person.
At this time, a grade six student reported that on April 2, 2015 around 8:00 p.m. while roller blading home from a school function in the rain, an older man stopped and asked if he needed a ride home. The boy declined the man’s offer and continued roller blading home. The man drove away and was last seen in the Wallace and Jane Street area.
The man had brownish gray hair and a white beard. He was driving an older black Jeep with rust on it.

Man Charged with Impaired Driving CK15009849
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for impaired driving in Thamesville.
Around 11:45 p.m. last night, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Jane Road. The man lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and struck a fence. Through investigation, police believed the man was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and he was taken into custody. The man was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
Evan Cameron, 19 years, of Centre Side Road in Dresden has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He was released pending a future court date of April 24, 2015.
Man Charged with Driving while Suspended CK15009807
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a traffic stop in Chatham yesterday.
At approximately 5:00 p.m. an officer on general patrol observed a man known to him as being a suspended driver operating a vehicle on Raleigh Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop and confirmed that his driving privileges were still prohibited.
Through investigation, the man was also found to be in possession of marihuana even though he was on conditions not to possess unlawful drugs or substances.
The 27-year-old Harwich Township man was taken into custody and charged with driving while disqualified, driving while under suspension x2, failing to comply x2 and drug possession. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
