(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have closed a section of Blyth Road (Huron County Road #25) between Blyth and Auburn as police investigate a crash involving a police cruiser and a transport truck.
Just before 1:00 p.m., in whiteout conditions, a Huron County OPP officer was patrolling eastbound on Blyth Road near Dutch Line when his Chevrolet Tahoe cruiser collided with the rear of a transport truck and trailer that was also travelling eastbound. The driver of a third trailing vehicle managed to avoid the lead vehicles and drove into the ditch.
The involved male officer was transported to a local hospital with a minor injury.
The other two drivers were uninjured.
The roadway will remain closed while police continue to investigate the crash.
Blyth Road (County #25) is currently closed in Auburn at Donnybrook Line and in Blyth at London Road.
