(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Tuesday July 03, 2012, an Arthur St. resident in Mitchell contacted the Perth County OPP and reported the theft of expensive golf clubs from an unlocked garage.
Police investigation revealed that the set of “Nancy Lopez†golf clubs in a hunter green golf bag had been removed from the garage. The culprits entered the unlocked man-door on the side of the garage sometime between 8:30 p.m. on Monday July 2nd and 8 a.m. on Tuesday July 3rd. The clubs are a full set of irons and 3 drivers.
This theft is similar to thefts that occurred in Mitchell in May of this year. Those thefts involved entries into unlocked vehicles and garages (targeting unlocked windows and man-doors). Residents are urged to lock their vehicles and garages to discourage these brazen crimes. If suspicious activity is observed in your street or you hear noises around your home contact the police immediately.
Anyone having information about this theft or if having been approached about buying a set of golf clubs matching the above description, is requested to contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
