On the 1st of July 2015 at approximately 9:00 am an Owen Sound officer on patrol had her attention drawn to a black Jeep driving with two different licence plates on the vehicle, neither of which was registered to the Jeep. Police stopped the vehicle in the 700 block of 9th Avenue East at which time the driver was identified as a 24 year old Owen Sound man. Investigation revealed that the driver was criminally prohibited from driving a vehicle and was on a probation order to not be in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. It was also found that the vehicle was not insured. The Jeep was subsequently impounded for 45. The driver must now attend court on the 8th of August to answer to criminal charges of Driving while disqualified, Breach of probation, and provincial offences of No insurance and several other Highway Traffic Act offences.
