On the 16th of January 2014, Barrie Police investigated and charged a 40 year old male with Criminal Harrasssment and Breaching a Peace Bond.
The female victim and accused male were involved in a relationship for a period of time. As the relationship began to deteriorate the female victim was constantly being contacted by the accused at which time she attended the Justice of The Peace and swore to a peace bond to not communicate or come within 150 meters of the victims residence or place of employment.
In November of 2013, the accused began texting the victim on a regular basis. The victim tried to ignore him, but in January 2014 the behaviour escalated to him watching the victim’s residence and sending her text messages proving he was within 150 meters of the residence.
Police were able to locate the accused and he was arrested and held pending a bail hearing on the charges of criminal harrassment and breaching his peace bond.
