Type: Theft of Trailer

Date: May 4, 2015

Incident: 15-13360

Location: West Street (300 block)

Incident: Sometime between May 3 at 3:00 p.m. and May 4, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. a trailer was stolen from a business parking lot on West Street. The trailer is 1992 black enclosed utility trailer which contained an eaves trough machine and eaves trough installing equipment.

Date: May 4, 2015

Incident: 15-13389

Location: Market Street

Incident: On May 4, 2015 shortly before 1:00 p.m. BPS was called to attend a restaurant on Market Street regarding the theft of a tip jar. Earlier, at around 9:30 a.m. a male and female attended inside the restaurant on Market Street. The male ordered a food item to go and was witnessed stealing an employee’s tip jar when he left the restaurant. The suspect fled on foot at that time and police weren’t contacted. The employees observed the man in the area shortly before 1:00 p.m. and contacted police and were able to point out the suspect. A 25 year old Brantford man was arrested a short distance away on Market Street. The exact amount stolen from the jar was recovered. The accused is charged with Theft under $5,000.00 and released on a promise to appear at a future court date.

Type: Shoplifting/Theft

Date: May 4, 2015

Incident: 15-13391

Location: Henry Street (100 block)

Incident: On May 4, 2015 shortly before 1:00 p.m. an employee from a business on Henry Street observed a male select a BBQ and walk out of the store without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise. The suspect was observed getting into an awaiting vehicle. An employee from the business followed the suspect vehicle and notified BPS. The male was observed exiting the car with the stolen BBQ and enter a backyard on Charlotte Street. Community Patrol Officers attended and commenced an investigation. A 42 year old man was arrested for theft under $5,000.00. The BBQ was recovered and returned to the business. Further the accused was wanted for theft under $5,000.00 regarding a shoplifting incident at the LCBO on Lynden Road, Tuesday April 28, 2015. At approximately 4:00 p.m. the accused selected two bottles of vodka and a bottle of whiskey. The accused concealed these items in his jacket and exited the store without any attempt to pay for the merchandise. The accused was captured on video. The accused further stands charged with theft under $5,000.00 in relation to the LCBO incident. The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Type: Attempt Theft of Motor Vehicle/Arrest

Date: May 4, 2015

Incident: 15-13439

Location: Fairview Drive (300 block)

Incident: On May 4, 2015 at 6:47 p.m. an observant citizen called 9-1-1 to report a man attempting to steal a pickup truck parked at the Central Baptist Church on Fairview Drive. The male was observed punching the door lock and smashing the steering column with a hammer. The male was unsuccessful with stealing the truck and walked away on foot headed east bound on Fairview Drive. The citizen provided a detailed description of the suspect and direction of travel. Community Patrol Officers and the Traffic Unit who were close by descended into the area in search of the suspect. The accused was located a short distance away and was arrested without incident. A hammer and screwdriver was found on the accused person.

The accused, Jacob Aaron DAVIS, 22 yrs, of Hagersville is charged with the following offences;

Mischief under $5,000.00

Attempt Theft under $5,000.00

*Possession of Break in Instruments

The accused was released with a future court date.
