Location: King George Road (0-100 block)

Incident: Sometime overnight on April 29, 2015 suspect(s) smashed out a front door at a business on King George Road. A cash box containing an undisclosed amount of funds was reported stolen.

Type: Shoplifting/Resist Arrest

Date: April 30, 2015

Incident: 15-12783

Location: Clarence Street

Incident: On April 30, 2015 shortly before 5:00 p.m. BPS received a telephone call from Shoppers Drug Mart on Clarence Street. Loss Preventions Officers had observed a female place several items in a shopping cart and exit the store without making any attempt to purchase the items. The female was approached by Loss Prevention Officers and arrested for theft. A physical struggle ensured and the female resisted. Loss Prevention was able to gain control and handcuff the woman. BPS attended and continued the arrest charging the woman with Theft under $5,000.00 and Possession of Property under $5,000.00. The 34 year old Brantford woman was also found to have on her prescription medication not prescribed to her. The accused was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act. Further the accused was wanted on a Bench Warrant for Fail to Appear in court. The accused was charged by Hamilton Police Service for Theft and Possession of Stolen Property under $5,000.00. The accused had failed to appear in Hamilton Court on April 7, 2015. The accused was released from BPS custody with a future Brantford court date and was turned over to Hamilton Police Service regarding the outstanding warrant.

Location: Greenbrier School, White Oaks Avenue

Incident: On April 30, 2015 at around 9:30 p.m. a citizen telephoned 9-1-1 to report a small fire at Greenbrier School. Contents inside a small blue recycling box had been set on fire. Brantford Fire Department attended and extinguished the fire.

Incident: 15-12952

Location: Tranquility Street

Incident: On April 30, 2015 shortly after 10:00 p.m. the Brantford Fire Department contacted the BPS to report a fire on Tranquility Street. A porta potty had been set on fire and was extinguished by the Fire Department. Investigators are not ruling out the two arsons were committed by the same suspect(s).
