Date: March 30, 2015

Incident: On Monday March 30, 2015 at approximately 9:14 a.m. a citizen dialed 9-1-1 after a neighbour had ran to her house needing police assistance. A man and woman in a common law relationship had been involved in a verbal argument at their family home. Information was received that the argument escalated where the accused had pushed the victim onto a couch and continued arguing with the victim while holding a large kitchen knife in his hand. The victim, fearful for her safety attempted to leave the home with their infant son, however the accused refused to allow the victim to leave the home with their son. The victim fled the home, asked the neighbour to call police and returned back to her home. The accused had locked the doors denying the victim access to the home and their child. Community Patrol Officers attended and began speaking with the accused from outside of the residence.

At around 9:35 a.m. Officers were able to negotiate the release of the infant. The accused placed the infant in a car seat/carrier opened the door and handed the infant to Officers. The accused returned inside the home and communications regarding the accused and his involvement with the domestic incident continued. At approximately 9:45 a.m. the accused allowed Officers inside the home where the accused was arrested without incident. The accused a 19 year old Brantford man is charged with Assault and Assault with a Weapon. The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing. The victim and infant did not receive any physical injuries.

Incident: On March 30, 2015 sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. a rear window on a vehicle was smashed. No items were reported stolen at the time of the report.

Type: Theft of Quad 4X4 vehicle

Location: Tranquility Street

Incident: Sometime overnight on March 30, 2015 a 2000 Yamaha ATV, 4X4 Big Bear quad, dark green in colour was reported stolen from an address on Tranquility Street.

Date: March 31, 2015

Location: Fairview Drive (400 block)

Incident: Sometime overnight on March 30, 2015 a pickup truck parked in a lot on Fairview Drive was damaged. The driver’s side lock was punched and the interior of the vehicle ransacked. No items were reported stolen at the time of the report.
