Crash Sends Three To Hospital

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Sunday October 26, 2014, shortly after 9 a.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Perth Line 33 and Road 110.

Investigation revealed that a Dodge minivan was travelling west bound on Perth Line 33 at Road 110. A GMC Sierra pickup truck travelling north bound on Road 110 was stopped at the stop sign controlled intersection. Just prior to the minivan entering the intersection the driver of the pickup truck proceeded to cross Perth Line 33. The Sierra pickup truck T boned the minivan causing both vehicles to enter the ditch area on the north-west corner of the intersection where they landed on their sides.

The 53 year old male driver of the minivan and his two 18 year old female passengers, all Tavistock residents, sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital. The 20 year old male driver of the pickup truck, a Township of Perth East resident sustained minor injuries however he was not transported to hospital.

The pickup truck driver has been charged with the Highway Traffic Act offence of “fail to yield to traffic on through highway”. Both vehicles were demolished as a result of this collision.
