Crash Sends Driver To Hospital

(HURON EAST, ON) On Sunday April 21, 2013 around 4:30 a.m., Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) officers were called to Centennial Road west of Seaforth, as a result of a single motor vehicle crash.

Investigation revealed that a Hyundai Santa Fe had been travelling west bound on Centennial Road west of Hannah Line, when it entered the grassy ditch on the south side of the road. The driver attempted to regain control by steering towards the right. This resulted in the vehicle crossing the roadway and entering the north ditch area where the driver’s side of the vehicle struck a tree.

The 18 year old male driver, a Huron East resident, was transported by ambulance to the Seaforth Hospital. The male was later transported by ambulance to the Victoria Hospital in London where he is being treated for his major injuries.

Centennial Road between Hannah Line and Division Line was closed until 10 a.m. allowing for the removal of the vehicle and the safe investigation of the crash by O.P.P. West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigators.
