(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Friday August 08, 2014, shortly after 4 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Livingston Ave and Main St west in Listowel.
Investigation revealed that a Ford Taurus travelling west bound on Main St west at the intersection of Livingstone Ave, was struck by a Nissan Pathfinder that was travelling north bound on Livingstone Ave. The impact resulted in both vehicles coming to rest on the North West corner of the intersection.
The lone occupant of the Taurus, a 62 year old female driver from Howick Twp. was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for her minimal injuries. The 13 year old male passenger of the Pathfinder, a resident of Palmerston, was also transported to a local hospital and was treated there for his minimal injuries.
The female driver of the Pathfinder, a 45 year old Palmerston resident, sustained minimal injuries however she did not require transport to hospital. She has been charged with “fail to yield to traffic on through highwayâ€Â.
Livingston Ave has stop signs while Main St west is the through highway.
This collision resulted in traffic back-ups on Main St West until approximately 5:30 p.m. when the vehicles and debris were cleared from the roadway.
