Investigation indicated that a Toyota Venza, being driven west bound on Hwy. 8, crossed the centre line and entered onto the east bound lane. The driver of an east bound tractor trailer observed the Toyota enter his lane. He slowed down and drove his rig onto the south shoulder. The Toyota continued and struck the truck behind the cab. The impact resulted in large pieces of debris becoming airborne and striking a west bound SUV.

The 66 year old female driver of the Toyota, a Municipality of West Perth resident was transported to Stratford General Hospital with minor injuries. She has been charged with “careless driving” and is to appear in Stratford Court on July 24, 2012 to answer to this charge. Hwy. 8 between Road 150 and Road 155 remained closed from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The closure allowed for the safe removal of the vehicles as well as the debris on the roadway.
