Crash Closes Highway 9 – One Pronounced Dead

(KINLOSS TWP, ON) – On May 22nd, 2012 at 4:03 pm, the South Bruce OPP received a report of a head on crash on Highway 9 in Kinloss Township. Officers attended with the Lucknow Fire Department, Huron County paramedics and Bruce County paramedics. The involved vehicles, a Burgundy Ford pickup and a Grey Buick Regal were found at rest in the ditch, south of Highway 9.

The driver of the Grey Buick, 53 year old Michelle TAYLOR of Kincardine Township, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger from the Buick and the driver of the truck were both taken to Kincardine hospital for assessment of non life threatening injuries.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision investigators were called to the scene to assist the South Bruce OPP with this incident. Highway 9 was closed from Bushell Street to Bruce County Road 1 for the safety of those involved with the crash.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is in its early stages. Anyone with information is asked to call the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.
