Crack cocaine and marihuana seized during warrant execution on Marier Avenue

(Ottawa) – On Friday, January 23, 2015, the Ottawa Police Service Drug Unit with the assistance of the Tactical Team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant in the 200 block of Marier Avenue. The warrant execution was the culmination of a week long investigation that began in response to community complaints of heavy pedestrian traffic to and from a residence.

Included in the items seized are:

11.4 grams of Crack Cocaine valued at $2,280.00.
5.3 grams of Marihuana valued at $53.00.
3.3 grams of Cannabis Resin valued at $49.50
$435.00 in Canadian currency
As a result of the investigation, Donald SPITTACHINE, 19 years old, of Ottawa is charged with:

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance (crack cocaine) contrary to Sec 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5000.00 contrary to Sec 355(b) of the Criminal Code
Breach of Recognizance X 2 under Sec 145(3) of the Criminal Code
He was held for a Show Cause hearing and is scheduled to appear in court on January 26, 2015.

A male young offender, 16 years old, from Ottawa is charged with:

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance (crack cocaine) contrary to Sec 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5000.00 contrary to Sec 355(b) of the Criminal Code
Possession of a Schedule II Substance (marihuana) contrary to Sec 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
He was held for a Show Cause hearing and was released on a Recognizance.

A second male young offender, 15 years old, from Ottawa is charged with:

Breach of Undertaking contrary to Sec 145(5.1) of the Criminal Code
He was released on an Undertaking.

Also charged as part of the investigation is Frederick THEBAULT, 33 years old, of Ottawa who was arrested on an outstanding warrant. He was held for a Show Cause hearing and is scheduled to appear in court on January 26, 2015.
