At the November 19, 2012 council meeting, council received a letter
from a citizen that was concerned about the winter sidewalk
situation. The citizen’s letter expressed concern that sidewalks
leading to a bus stop were not cleared, and that children had to
walk on the road. Council did not have the courage to demand
town staff to do their jobs and to stop putting our children at
risk. Instead they stalled, as usual, and sent the issue
to Public Works to evaluate and respond.” This is a
department that DUMPS snow on the sidewalks surrounding the Hospital
and medical center
