Waterloo Regional Police have recently seen an increase in the $50 and $100 counterfeit American bank notes passed at local retailers. Police are asking local retailers to educate their staff regarding the security features found in American currency. Fraud Branch investigators are also asking citizens and retailers who receive suspected counterfeit currency to contact police promptly by calling (519) 653-7700.
