Barrie Police are currently investigating numerous incidents where counterfeit American $50 and $100 bills are being passed at local businesses. Police are encouraging businesses to be extra diligent when dealing with customers using American $50 and $100 bills. If receiving multiple bills, check the serial numbers to ensure that they are all different numbers. If there is any doubt as to the authenticity of the bills do not accept them and contact police. Anyone with information is asked to contact Barrie Police or Crime Stoppers.
