Councillor Opposed To Crosswalks, But Some People Find Them Useful

North Huron’s council and senior staff have a well documented contempt for pedestrian safety and literally dump snow on Community trail entrances, and on sidewalks forcing pedestrians to walk in traffic to get to school etc. Several on council have repeatedly stated if the Public doesn’t like it, they can get a shovel and clear it themselves. Now council is doubling down on their “let’s turn students and pedestrians into speed bumps” attitude.

At the 20Nov2017 North Huron council meeting councillor Brock Vodden had the courage to tackle what he believes to be a controversial topic, the usefulness of crosswalks.

“Another area are the crosswalks, something that is cropping up here and there, and they’re controversial I know, but some people find them useful.”
