Council Slams Through Demolition Of Belgrave Landmark Without Public Consultation

In a truly shameless move North Huron council rammed through the demolition of 14 Queen’s Street Belgrave, a local Landmark.

Council and staff have been letting the Public believe they were going to maintain the building and flip-flopped in chambers. They set aside $26,000 for a roof and new windows, which is almost 2x what it would really cost. Council and staff decided it would be less work and effort to just demolish the building. So in a few seconds they flip-flopped behind the scenes and ordered the destruction of the building before the Public would have time to react and save the local landmark.
