Current head of Public Works, Ralph Campbell, has stated that there is a $10 minimum fee at the dump. This fee was charged even if the bags had tags on them. If your dump bill was $10, and you had 20 bags of garbage with a $2 tag on each of them, you still had to pay the $10 fee. Mr. Campbell apparently adopted this policy to discourage people from using the dump.
At one Committee of the Whole meeting, Mr. Campbell said they stopped giving credit for the tags about a year ago.
North Huron Council has recently adopted a new fee structure for all of NH’s services. This has apparently overridden Ralph Campbell’s policy of not giving credit for tags.
Now when you go to the dump, you will get $2.00 off your dump bill for each bag tag you have on your trash.
