(Belleville, ON)- On Monday, March 28, 2016 at 2:45 p.m. the Ontario Provincial Police in Leeds and Grenville received a complainant of a motorcycle being driven in an erratic fashion on Highway 401. Information provided was that the vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic.
An officer attempted to stop the motorcycle in the Leeds and Grenville area however the driver failed to stop. Approximately 30 minutes later an officer with the Frontenac OPP attempted to stop the same motorcycle and the driver again failed to stop.
The motorcycle was located by Napanee OPP officers travelling westbound on the 401 at 3:51 p.m. Police followed the vehicle until it exited southbound on Wallbridge Loyalist Road. The driver continued to Hamilton Road where he turned into a cornfield and lost control of the motorcycle. The male was apprehended by police after he ran into the woods.
19 year-old Reece COOK of Brantford faces charges of flight from police, three counts of dangerous driving, and driving without a licence.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
