PERTH COUNTY (March 1, 2016) – The Perth East Fire Department is excited to launch a contest for Perth County teens that encourages them to showcase their farm fire safety efforts, the iKnow Farm Fire Safety Contest (#iKnowFFSC).
The contest, launched today and ending May 1, 2016, offers up a grand prize of an iPad Mini 2 and iTunes gift card, plus three runner-up prizes of iTunes gift cards. All four winners will also get some cool fire safety items. Winning entries will be those that best demonstrate how the entrants and/or their family are using the farm fire safety tips promoted by organizations such as OMAFRA, NFPA® and the Perth East Fire Department. Entries can be in the form of tweets, Facebook posts, photos/drawn pictures, videos and even essays.
The contest is open to Perth County residents between the ages of 12-17 years old, who live on, work at, or frequently visit a farm. To be eligible, entrants must first get the contest permission form signed by a parent/guardian then submit the completed form to the fire department. The entrant will then receive a Participant Code, which can be used to identify as many submissions as the entrant wishes to enter. Full contest details, rules and the permission form can be obtained on the contest website, or at the Perth East Municipal Office in Milverton, ON.
