Conscientious Pickup Truck Owner Averts Theft

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Monday January 16, 2012 shortly after 6 a.m. Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a rural residence along Perth Line 34 (Hwy 7/8) east of Shakespeare, where a home owner reported suspicious males on his property.

Investigation revealed that the caller observed two males walking away from his driveway and his neighbour’s property. The caller had his new Ford F150 pickup truck running and warming up in his driveway. The truck had been locked by the owner and therefore could not be entered. The two males walked across the highway where they got into a full sized silver or grey car which had a flat spoiler on the trunk. The suspect car was last seen heading west bound along Hwy 7/8 towards Stratford.
