The Conestoga dual credit culinary class honed their cooking skills and served up a delicious holiday lunch to guests and SWAC students (School Within A College). Students from various high schools across Huron and Perth Counties meet once a week, and under the guidance of Chef Bruce they create and prepare a full course meal including appetizers and desserts. The dual credit program allows high school students to take a college course taught in a college environment, and are granted a secondary school credit for each college course they successfully complete.
The dual credit program is a great way for students to earn extra credits for their high school diploma. Dual credit introduces students to various courses that are offered at post secondary institutions. Not only is this program a great tool for hands on learning, but it also gives students a chance to network and meet knew people with similar interests.
