(SOUTH BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – On May 31st, 2012 at 8:25 am, the South Bruce OPP received a report of a telemarketer attempting to raise funds to purchase OPP cruisers. The female caller asked for a credit card number to make a donation towards the purchase of police vehicles. The call was correctly identified as a scam and no money was “pledgedâ€Â. The South Bruce OPP is advising residents that the Ontario Provincial Police does not solicit funds for the purchase of police cruisers. If you receive a call similar to this, do not provide any personal information, banking information or credit card information.
