A con artist phones to inform you that your computer needs service or is vulnerable to a hacker, but they can help. To gain your trust, they use company names like Microsoft Support, Windows Support or Online PC Care. During the phone call, the scammer will request personal information and sometimes a credit card number to cover the service fee.
