When a drug dealer or dead beat scammer stops paying rent, it is only a matter of time before the Sheriff (Court Enforcement Officer) comes to town to change locks and forcibly take back the property from the criminals/fraudsters. When that happens the scammers desperately seek a new victim(landlord) and will offer excuses, lies and even tears to their next prospective victim to gain tenancy.
One thing these scammers/dealers won’t be able to provide is rent receipts for the last year showing they owe no arrears. If someone needs a place immediately, there is a very good chance they have been evicted for non-payment of rent or other reason. If they can’t provide rent receipts you are virtually guaranteed they are scammers that have no intention of paying any rent after you hand over the keys.
