Collision With Mailbox Leads To Impaired Charge For GRAY

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA, ON) – On Saturday May 11, 2019 at approximately 7:15 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Wellington Road 51 near Wellington Road 7 in the Township of Guelph-Eramosa. It was reported that a vehicle struck a mailbox and then left the scene.

Police attended and located the vehicle and driver a short distance away. While speaking with the driver, police formed the opinion that he was impaired by drugs. They were arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for further testing.

30-year-old Cole Edwin GRAY of Fergus has been charged with;

Driving while Impaired by Drug contrary to the Criminal Code.

Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code.

Fail to Remain contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

Fail to Have Validation on Plate contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on June 11, 2019.
