Collision – Vehicle Engulfed In Flames

Location: EASTBRIDGE BLVD and BRIDGE ST W, WATERLOO ON Canada

On Friday the 19th of December 2014 at approximately 3:13 a.m. a white Mercedes Benz SUV driven by a 27 yr. old Waterloo woman was northbound on Bridge St. W., Waterloo approaching the intersection of Eastbridge Blvd. At the same time a blue Subaru driven by 23 yr. old Kitchener man was southbound on Bridge St. W. approaching the same intersection. As the Mercedes approached the intersection it began to veer left into the southbound lane. The Subaru braked and skidded before being struck by the Mercedes. The Subaru spun to a stop before catching on fire. The Mercedes broke through two wooden barrier poles before coming to a stop on a public pathway. The driver of the Subaru and his passenger, a 57 yr. Waterloo man escaped the vehicle before it was engulfed in flames. The passenger had minor injuries and was taken to Grand River Hospital where he was treated and released. Police attended and investigated. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
