(BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On December 15, 2015 at approximately 11:32 a.m., the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Bruce County Emergency Services, South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department, Northern Bruce Peninsula Fire Department and ORNGE Air Ambulance responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on the Mar Side Road, in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.
Police investigation revealed a lone motor vehicle was driving southbound on the Mar Side road when it left the roadway and entered into the west ditch. The lone male driver sustained critical life-threatening injuries and has been air lifted to hospital by ORNGE Air Ambulance. The identity of the driver is not being released at this time.
The Mar Side Road will remain closed from Highway 6 to Bruce Road 9. Police are asking the public to avoid the area, until further updates are available. Residents who reside on this road are able to return to their residences; but are required to avoid the North/South portion of the road.
The investigation is on-going.
