(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – On Monday July 27, 2015, shortly before 7:30 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers, Perth County EMS personnel and members of the Milverton Fire Dept., were dispatched to a two vehicle crash on Perth Line 55 near Road 140.
Investigation revealed that a west bound GMC Sierra pickup truck travelling on Perth Line 50 proceeded to make a three point turn into the path of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was travelling east bound. The pickup trucks collided causing extensive damage to both vehicles and resulted in injuries to the driver of the Silverado.
The Silverado pickup truck driver, a 28 year old female from the Municipality of North Perth had to be extricated from her vehicle. She was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for her minor injuries.
The driver of the Sierra pickup truck, an 18 year old male driver from Nippising Twp. was uninjured. He has been charged with “careless driving”, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
Environmental and road conditions were ideal at the time of the collision.
