(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Tuesday October 11, 2011 at approximately 4:15 p.m. Perth County OPP officers were called to a two vehicle injury crash on Hwy. 7/8 near Road 110.
The collision resulted as a Ford pickup truck which was stopped on the south shoulder of highway 7/8 and proceeded to make a U-turn onto the west bound lane. As the truck was crossing the east bound lane, a small eastbound Subaru Forester travelling in the east bound lane was unable to avoid colliding with the pickup truck. The two occupants of the Subaru (Kitchener residents) sustained none life threatening injuries and were transported by Perth County Ambulance to Stratford General Hospital for treatment. The three occupants of the pickup truck were transported to Stratford General Hospital by family members as a precautionary measure.
Subsequent investigation into this crash resulted in the following charges against the 25 year old female driver of the pickup truck (resident of the Township of Perth East).
– Start from parked position -not in safety.
– Drive without authorized accompanying driver.
– Improper tires.
