Collision involving police vehicle

On Tuesday the 31st day of December, 2013 at approximately 0739hrs a Chatham-Kent police vehicle was involved in a motor vehicle collision. The operator of the police vehicle was on duty and responding to a priority call for service in the Dresden area. The police vehicle slid through the intersection of Brown Street and Center Street in Dresden on the snow covered and slippery roadway and was struck on the driver’s side by an oncoming vehicle. The officer is facing disciplinary action as a result of the collision. There were no injuries as a result of the collision. Total damage approx. 15,000.00.
