Collision Closes Perth Line 86 For Over 2 Hours

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Monday July 24, 2012, around 3:15 p.m., Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a rollover crash on Perth Line 86 east of Molesworth.

Investigation into the crash revealed that a Volkswagen Jetta had been travelling eastbound on Perth Line 86. It crossed over into the west bound lane and struck the rear wheel of west bound tractor trailer. The impact forced the Jetta back onto the east bound lane where it rolled.

The driver of the Jetta, a 63 year old female from the Municipality of North Perth needed to be extricated from the wreckage by the North Perth Fire Department. She was transported to Listowel Memorial Hospital with non life threatening injuries. The 29 year old male driver of the transport truck a resident of the Municipality of South Bruce was not injured.

The debris and damaged vehicles on the roadway forced the closure of Perth Line 86 between Road 177 in Molesworth, and Road 175. The road was re-opened at 5:30 p.m.

Investigation is continuing into the cause of this collision.
