On August 20, 2013 at 4:00 p.m., a female Guelph resident was exiting the parking lot located at 386 Speedvale Avenue East in her Chevrolet Venture van and was struck by a Ford Mustang travelling west on Speedvale Avenue. Both vehicles sustained approximately $12,000 in damage. As a precaution three small children in the van were checked at the scene by GWEMS and were found to have no injuries. A male passenger in the Mustang was treated at the scene for a scrape on his arm and redness to his chest as a result of the vehicles airbag deploying from the impact. The female driver of the van was subsequently charged with failing to yield.
