(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A complaint of a female passed out behind the wheel of a Suzuki sports utility vehicle led to a handful of criminal charges for a 47 year old female from London. Just before 4:00 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to Bluewater Highway and Indian Road to investigate a vehicle parked on the shoulder of the road. Officers located a female asleep behind the wheel. Officers got the driver’s attention and immediately noted the driver had been drinking alcohol. She displayed signs that she was impaired by alcohol and was arrested for Impaired Care and Control. She was transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment for breath tests. Both tests were above the legal limit.
A search of the female was conducted incident to arrest and officers located suspected Psilocybin (magic mushrooms), Cannabis Resin and Cocaine.
As a result, Colleen POWER, age 47, from London has been charged with Impaired Care & Control, Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. She has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on July 18, 2013. She received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
