It is only common-sense to screen everyone that enters Canada. Background and reference checks should only take about a day per person, a small price for our security. Not doing this simple step is failing to protect Canadians on Canadian soil. If someone handed you a bunch of grapes and told you that one or two were poisoned, would you eat any or let your children near them?
What ratio of suicide bombers is acceptable to you? I am guessing you would say zero, and that even one-in-a-million is unacceptable.
New immigrants should be banned from owning suicide vests and firearms. The privilege to own firearms and weapons should be eliminated for new immigrants. To ensure they have not radicalized their children, several generations of immigrants should be banned from owning instruments of death. Four or five generations should be enough so proper screening can be done.
All those coming to Canada, especially terror hot spots like France and the rest of Europe, should undergo lengthy screening before being allowed to freely roam our streets and communities. Suicide bombers have freely passed from country to country in the EU and middle-east. Strict entrance screening is absolutely necessary to help ensure these people aren’t suicide bombers.
While our hearts go out to France, we must learn from these terror attacks before we suffer the same destiny. Would it make you more comfortable with the 25,000 plan if they were all French citizens? Of course not, there is indisputable proof they have/had many suicide bombers in their midst. It might alarm you to know that approximately 2,500 people a day (75,000/month) arrive in Canada from France alone. Any one of those 75,000/month could be a terrorist and should undergo more extensive screening than “you a terrorist or tourist?”
Immediately shutting down all flights to Canada is essential to our national security. Tourism isn’t worth the risk anymore, and provides so little to our economy. Even if there is an economic benefit from the all these “tourists” is it worth the risk? Do you really think families of the victims in France are comforted that their security was traded for tourism dollars?
There are over 2 million people entering Canada every month, some stay overnight, others stay much longer. If there is only one terrorist per million, we are long overdue for an attack. Many other countries have already shut their borders. Isn’t it time we closed our borders and denied access to everyone that doesn’t hold a Canadian passport?
